Alcarràs
This project is a redesign of the main poster for the film Alcarràs. It is one of my first projects as a designer, and I chose photography as the main technique for its representational strength and because it is a field I feel comfortable in, even if it is not my specialization. After studying the film and the director’s intention, I became deeply admiring of Carla Simón, and the final result reflects that. The peach, a central element in the film, leads the poster, and its fracture represents the conflict at the heart of the story. The puddle (empty yet filled with mud) refers to the land where the film was shot, as well as to its color palette. For me, it was important that the poster included a large area of negative space, as this represents the film’s unfolding and narrative development.
